The Dominican Hair Salon Experience!

Dominican women love their hair! We pride ourselves in taking care of our hair, leaving it as healthy and beautiful as possible. And Dominican hairstylists love to make your hair look beautiful. There is no hair salon experience quite like the Dominican hair experience. The other day i went to Rizos Spa in Corona, Queens to get my curly hair blown out straight, and man did they do one hell of a job! There is no blow out like the Dominican blow out, which leaves even the curliest of all hairs soft, and silky straight. I go whenever I'm looking for a change from my usually curly hair. So let me explain in further detail the Dominican hair experience. Most Dominican hair salons are not by appointment but by first come, first serve, but it really depends where you go. I love Rizos Spa because they work extremely professionally so they do take appointments and do value appointments and you're not waiting there all day long like you would in your typical Dominican hair salon. You are taken to the sink and your hair is washed and conditioned, many times with Dominican hair products. For five more dollars you can request to have a deep conditioner treatment added, but if you want to be cost efficient bring your own. They'll apply it on to your hair, put on a clear shower cap and have you sit under the hooded hair dryer for about 15-20 minutes with the treatment on. Afterwards they'll rinse out the treatment and you can request if you want a blow out or your hair set. When they set your hair that is referred to as the regular lavado y secado (wash-and dry or roller set). The hair is then set with the rollers and you are left to sit under a hooded hair dryer with the rollers for about 45 minutes to an hour depending on your hair length. Once your hair is dry, the stylist straightens out the curls with a big rounded brush and a blow dryer, leaving your hair silky, smooth and straight! If you live in the Queens area, check out Rizos Spa in Corona, Queens. It's the Dominican hair salon experience combined with a sophisticated spa experience, and all at a pretty reasonable price. If you don't live in Queens, tune it soon for a post I will be doing on the best Dominican hair salons throughout New York City!

Camilla wore a draped tulle Jason Wu cocktail dress and clutch and sandals from Christian Louboutin. I am obsessed with this shade of green and Camilla did an amazing job pulling this look off. For such a young actress she has such a classic look to her but she keeps it modern and edgy. And can I just say she has amazing eyebrows!
